1. Action Education of Scheduled Caste Youths on Water Resources Development and Management through Appropriate Scientific Technologies

2. Three training programmes on ‘Agriculture Water Management’ were conducted by the Water Management Division of CWRDM for the senior and middle level officials of the Dept. of Agriculture and Food Production, Govt. of Odisha,during 12–16 January, 9-13 February and 23–27 February of 2015. Fifty eight participants attended the same.

3. Organized 3 days Environment Management Training on Water Quality Management during 26-28, February 2015 &19-21, March 2015.

4. Training course on ‘Application of DSS in Irrigated Agriculture and Environmental Impact Assessment of Water Resources Projects’, was conducted during March 16 - 20, 2015 for the Officers from Remote Sensing Applications Centre, Uttar Pradesh.

5. Training to staff of CWRDM on Groundwater Modelling Software (GMS) by Adithi Infotech, Nagpur, was organized by the Groundwater Division on 31st March and 1st April 2015.

6. Training Cum Study Tour on Irrigation Water Management during 26-30May 2015 at CWRDM HQ sponsored by Agriculture Engineering Department, Tamil Nadu.

7. Organized a farmer meeting for fuzzy cognitive mapping survey on soil health management aspects at Karanthur under TIFAC funded project

8. One day workshop on 'Water Management for Sustainable Development' as part of ‘Hamara Jal Hamara-Jeevan' Programme of Ministry of Water Resources, GoI, was conducted on 15 January, 2015, jointly by CWRDM and Central Ground Water Board, GoI.

9. Workshop on“Water Vision 2030” was held at CWRDM on 25th January 2015Workshop on “Monitoring, Mapping and Mitigation of Fluoride in Palakkad Region including Attappady of Kerala State” was conducted on 13-03-2015 at Palakkad

10. Workshop on Sustainable Development through Integrated Water Resources Management Organized at the Banquet Hall of Government Guest House, Thiruvananthapuram, on 23 March 2015, in association with the Pampa River Basin Authority

11. Workshop on Rejuvenation of Pampa River and Pampa Action Plan was held on 18 April 2015 at Thiruvananthapuram, jointly organized by CWRDM and Pampa River Basin Authority.

12. Workshop on Drip Fertigation was conducted at CWRDM, Kozhikode on 22nd May 2015 under the DST funded project.

13. Observance of the World Wetlands Day was held on 31st January 2015 and 2nd February 2015 at CWRDM, Kozhikode.

Seminars/ Workshops Organized

1. Organized National Technology Day Celebrations 2015 held at Malabar Palace, Calicut on 11th May 2015.

2. Knowledge Dissemination Workshop on ‘Isotope Techniques’ was conducted on 22nd July, 2015 at Muscat Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram under DST, GoI.

3. Seminar on Water Resources Management-Opportunities and Challenges in the Context of Climate Change Scenario on 12th August 2015 as part of Swasraya Bharat 2015, in collaboration with Water Management (Agriculture) Division.

4. Seminar on “Water Resources Management: Opportunities and Challenges in the Context of Climate Change Scenario” on August 2015 was organized as part of ‘Swasraya Bharat 2015’ in which 180 students and teachers participated. Dr. A Achyuthan inaugurated the Seminar, which was presided over by Dr. M Anandaraj, Director, ICAR-IISR. Prof. (Dr.).K.Mohankumar, Department of Atmospheric Sciences, CUSAT delivered the keynote address.

5. Regional Seminar on ‘Water Security through Public Participation’ held at Calicut on 6-10-2015; Coordinated by Dr. Kamalam Joseph, Sri. Babu Mathew and Sri. T Valsan; sponsored by DST, GoI; 95 members were participated.

6. One day Workshop on Social Audit of Kallada Irrigation Project conducted on 28-10-2015 at Hotel High Land, Kottarakkara

1. Training programme on “Water Resources Management” was conducted by Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM), Kozhikode sponsored by Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Govt of India, on March 12-14, 2014.

2. Short-term training course on Isotope Tracer Techniques for Water Resources Development and Management was conducted during 09- 13 June, 2014 at CWRDM-HQ.

3. A training programme was organized at the national level under the Key Resource Centre funded by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, during 11 – 13 June 2014 at CWRDM Sub Centre, Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram.

1. One day Workshop on ‘Interstate Rivers and Inter Basin Transfers: Current Status in Kerala’, conducted at CWRDM, Kozhikode on 11 February 2014 as a part of WRMTP of CWRDM.

2.The Orientation Programme on Integrated Water Resources Management with special reference to Energy was organised at the Banquet Hall, Government Guest House, Thiruvananthapuram, on 22 March 2014 – International Water Day

3. Farmers’ Seminar on Drip fertigation at Alapuzha, Thrissur and Kozhikode in coordination with Department of Agriculture on 21st, 22nd and 27th May 2014, respectively.

4. A workshop was organized as part of the project Ecological Restoration of  Mampuzha River under its IEC activities  on 30-05-2014.

5. One day workshop on ‘Water literacy and Renovation of Water Resources’ was conducted at Kuzhuppilly Gramapanchayath on 4th June, 2014.

6. CWRDM with the support of UNICEF organized a workshop on "Preparation of a Water Safety Plan for Kerala State" at Thiruvnathapuram on 20th June 2014.

1.  CWRDM had organized a training programme on Orientation Programme on Research Water Management under KSCSTE scheme STARS (Students with Talent and Aptitude for Research in Science) from 27 to 31 May 2013

2.  3 day training course on ‘Micro Irrigation and Fertigation’ sponsored by Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Kerala, was organized at CWRDM during 4-6 June 2013.

3.  Training course on ‘‘On-farm Water Management’ sponsored by Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Kerala, was organized at CWRDM 11-13 June 2013.

4.  Training course on ‘Precision Farming’, sponsored by Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Kerala, was organized at CWRDM during 18-21 June 2013.

5.  National Level Training Programme on Water Quality Monitoring Techniques supported by Water Quality Assessment Authority (WQAA), Ministry of Water Resources, Govt. of India was conducted at CWRDM on 19th - 23rd of November, 2013.

6.  Training Programme on Integrated Mangrove Aquaculture was organized at Kappil SNDP Hall, Edava, Thiruvananthapuram District Chennam Pallippuram Grama Panch on 28 December 2013, as part of the ongoing project funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India

 

Seminars/Workshops Organized

1.  CWRDM had organised an International Meet on ‘Land Cover Land Use Change Dynamics and its Impacts in south Asia: Focus on Water Resources’ on 7 -8 January 2013 at its headquarters at Calicut. The program was a joint effort of the NASA’s LCLUC Program, University of Maryland.

2.  As a part of international year of water cooperation, Centre for water resources development and management (CWRDM), organised one day workshop on water literacy programme for school children at Sastra Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram on 22nd July 2013. and CWRDM.

3.  As a part of international year of water cooperation Centre for water resources development and management (CWRDM) organized a one day workshop on water literacy programme for school children at St. Joseph’s CGHSS, Kottayam on 31st July 2013.

4.  Centre for water resources development and management (CWRDM) organised one day workshop on water literacy programme for school children at Pilikkode Higher Secondary School on 27th August 2013.

5.  A Project Launching Workshop on Ecological Restoration of Mampuzha River  on 24-10-2013 at Olavanna Grama panchayat.

4.  Training course on ‘Water quality and Geomatics in Water Resources Management’ for Remote Sensing Application Center, Uttar Pradesh organized by CWRDM during 15-20 October 2012.

 

Seminars/Workshops Organized

1.  A Seminar on Drip Irrigation at CADA Head Office, Thrissur on 30th January 2012.

2.   Organised a seminar on “Wetland and Sustainable Tourism with Special Focus on Wetlands in Northern Kerala” in association with World Wetland Day on 6th February 2012.

3.  Conducted a one day Seminar cum Interface on ‘Organic Farming and Water Management’ on 25-02-2012 at CWRDM HQ, Kozhikode.

4.   A workshop on “Ecological Sanitation” was conducted at Mavoor and Karasseri panchayaths on 19th May 2012 as part of the UNICEF funded project.

5.  An awareness programme on “Water Quality and Relevance of water card” was conducted at Kunnamangalam grama panchayath on 4th  September  2012.

6.  An awareness programme on Water Quality and Sanitation and water card and water filter distribution to the beneficiaries was conducted at Olavanna grama panchayath on 21st August 2012 as part of the UNICEF funded project

7. One day workshop on “Water Quality Testing under World Water Monitoring Council Programme 2012” was conducted in CWRDM on 24th September 2012 in connection with World Water Quality Monitoring Day.

8.  A one day workshop on “Water and Sanitation” was conducted at Karassery Grama panchayath on 1st October 2012 as part of the UNICEF funded project.

9.  One day Regional workshop on Isotope Hydrology was conducted on 11 October, 2012 at Karunya University, Coimbatore under the aegis of DST National Stable Isotope facility at CWRDM.

10.  A one day workshop on Water and Sanitation was conducted at CWRDM with the support of Mavoor Grama panchayath as part of the UNICEF funded project.

11.  State level Dissemination Workshop on Dissemination of experiences of piloting alternate WATSAN options to improve drinking water quality in Kerala was organised by Centre for Water Resources Development and Management with the support of UNICEF on 20th December 2012.
